Work on Boulevard LaSalle, between 2e Avenue and Rue Gordon, aims to rebuild the water and sewer lines, the pavement and sidewalks, as well as to modernize public utilities, streetlights and traffic lights.

What

  • Replacement of secondary water pipes dating from 1917
  • Replacement of sewer pipes dating from 1956
  • Replacement of lead water service connections
  • Reconstruction of the pavement across the full width
  • Reconstruction of sidewalks
  • Modernization of the public lighting system and traffic lights
  • Construction of the access chamber and of the equipment of the Commission des Services Électriques de Montréal (CSEM) and Bell
  • Deviation of an Énergir gas pipe
  • Integration of infrastructures to drain stormwater and of curb extensions at intersections
  • Plantation of trees, shrubs and perennials
  • Installation of additional street furniture

Why

The project will allow for the reconstruction of aging drinking water and sewer lines, the removal of all lead water service connections, and the maintenance in good working order of the city’s water infrastructure, which is an essential service to the population. 

The reconstruction of Boulevard LaSalle also aims to streamline mobility and enhance user safety through improved street lighting and the reconfiguration of sidewalks.
