Winter trails cleared without salt or abrasives
As you stroll through the Pierrefonds-Roxboro parks, you may notice certain snow-cleared paths that are free from salt and abrasives. This initiative is designed to reduce environmental impact and protect our ecosystems while still providing clear trails for walkers.
The environmental management of salts and abrasives focuses on protecting the environment without compromising safety and traffic flow. By minimizing impact on infrastructure, water sources, and wildlife, this approach helps reduce maintenance costs while preserving fauna and flora. It’s a simple yet significant action to maintain the balance of nature and fully enjoy winter.
