Report a dead animal on city property

If you see a dead pet or wild animal on city property (street, sidewalk, alley, bike path), here is how to report it.

Avoid approaching the dead animal or touching it with your bare hands. 

If you notice a dead animal on public property, call 311. 

If the dead animal is a wild animal, visit the government of Québec’s Web site to find out which species must be declared. 

If the dead animal is a coyote, you must report it to the city. 

If it’s your pet, you then have 15 days to cancel your cat or dog license.

Avoid approaching the dead animal or touching it with your bare hands.
