Blue-collar workers’ strike April 15-18: impact in Lachine

Starting this Wednesday, the Ville de Montréal’s blue‑collar workers will be on strike for 72 hours.

The city’s blue-collar workers will hold a 72-hour strike beginning on April 15, at 6 a.m. and end on Saturday, April 18, at 6 a.m.

The following essential services related to public health and safety will be maintained.

Parking restrictions related to street maintenance operations suspended

Parking restrictions related to street maintenance operations will be suspended across the territory for April 15, 16 and 17. All other parking and traffic restrictions remain in effect (paid parking, reserved resident parking zones, limited duration zones, reserved lanes, areas reserved for persons with reduced mobility and secure areas). 

Temporary closure of arena Pierre « Pete » Morin

The arena Pierre « Pete » Morin will be closed during the strike as ice maintenance cannot be ensured.

Other municipal buildings

The borough hall will be closed on April 15. Other municipal buildings will remain open according to their regular schedules. Before travelling to a municipal facility during the strike days, we invite you to check whether it is open by consulting its website or by calling 311.
