Description
Beginning June 18, 2026, Rue Villeray will become pedestrian-only for the first time this summer. This new pedestrian street replaces Rue De Castelnau during a redevelopment project that is currently in progress.
This shopping street in the heart of Villeray from the back alley between Rue De Gaspé and Avenue Henri-Julien to Rue Berri will be a lively and welcoming public space this summer. Residents and passersby can gather and enjoy parklets, patios and relaxation areas in a friendly, village-like setting.
Cyclists are allowed to ride slowly in the pedestrian zone, with caution and courtesy. Pedestrians will have priority at all times.
