Reporting a pothole

Did you notice a pothole on a street in Montréal? Let us know, and our crews will come fix it.

Potholes may be caused by aging bitumen, repeated vehicular traffic, temperature variations and water infiltration beneath the asphalt.

They are repaired year-round. Machinery is used to fill potholes from November to April, while manual repairs are also carried out weather-permitting.

Examples of potholes:

  • Round hole in the pavement
  • Hole around a manhole
  • Several cracks or holes that are close to one another
  • Hole that reappears in the same location regularly
  • Hole in the sidewalk

Is the pothole located on a highway or service road? Contact the Ministère des Transports by dialling 511.
