Did you know that the collection of the former video club Le Septième is available to Montréal library members? It includes more than 12,000 films produced from 1909 to 2012, along with TV series.

Cinema for all, in several languages

Received as a donation to the libraries in 2014, but previously available by reservation only, the collection can now be borrowed on a self-serve basis at the Bibliothèque Saint-Charles, in Le Sud-Ouest.

This rich and valuable collection is made up of Québecois, American, French, South Korean, Chinese, British and Eastern European productions. Drama, comedy, science fiction, western, horror, B-movies…films of every genre await you. Most of the collection is offered in DVD format. You will also find videos in VHS and Blu-Ray formats.

How do I reserve a movie?

You must be a member of the Bibliothèques de Montréal. Reservations can be made online through the Nelligan catalogue . You can also browse through the collection in person at the  Bibliothèque Saint-Charles.

An anonymous donor

The Le Septième video club was located in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood. In 2013, it had to close its doors. An anonymous donor offered to buy the film collection from the owners on the condition that the public could borrow it for free. This is how the collection ended up in the Montréal library network.
