There’s a watering ban in effect in your area? It’s important to use water sparingly. Here are the instructions to follow until the ban is lifted.
Instructions to be respected
During a heat wave, you must reduce your consumption of potable water to maintain an adequate water supply. Certain uses are therefore prohibited.
Permitted Uses
- Using an automatic or movable watering system (e.g., oscillating sprinklers, porous hoses)
- Watering an existing lawn
- Filling an existing pool
- Washing a car
- Cleaning paved surfaces, patios and exterior walls
- Using an air conditioning system that runs on potable water
Prohibited Uses

When the watering ban is over, you can resume using the water supply according to the by-laws in effect in Montréal.
