RénoPlex: Determine grant amounts per type of work

Are you a property owner wishing to find out what grant amounts your renovation project would be eligible for through the RénoPlex program? Below are the amounts granted by the city for the various types of eligible work.

Depending on the type of building you own and according to the criteria that you meet, you may be eligible for Block 1 or Block 2 work. Go to the RénoPlex program page to determine which Block you qualify for.

The amounts granted are of $26,000 for a single-family home, and of $52,000 for a building having between 2 and 5 dwelling units.

If the building is held by a cooperative or a nonprofit housing organization the grant is multiplied by 1.5 based on the amounts granted per type of work.

Eligible work

Block 1

  • Excavate the soil around foundations: $190 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a structural element: $270 per pile
  • Install a pile under a concrete wall (not a common wall): $600 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation wall (not a common wall): $800 per pile
  • Replace a foundation wall including piles (not a common wall): $870 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a concrete common wall: $300 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation common wall: $400 each
  • Replace a foundation common wall with piles: $435 per linear metre
  • Repair a crack: $370 per crack
  • Waterproof a foundation: $80 per square metre
  • Insulate foundation walls from the outside: $9 per linear metre and per R5 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
  • Install or replace an interior or exterior foundation drain (French drain): $60 per linear metre
  • Install a new sump pump in a new pit: $1,600 per building
  • Install or repair a window well: $400 per window well
  • Install a green roof (vegetated roof): $100 per square metre
  • Replace a lead water-service entry: $1,600 per building
  • Installing a normally closed check valve: $90
  • Install a back flow stop valve, “normally closed” type, under an existing slab: $600 per valve
  • Divert the roof drain: $3,750 per building
  • Replace an oil-burning furnace with an electric furnace: $1,000 per dwelling unit affected
  • Replace an oil-burning furnace with a central heat pump: $1,350 per dwelling unit affected
  • Add a baseboard heater with a new heat pump system: $675 per building
  • Replace an oil-burning water heater with an electric water heater: $550 per water heater
  • Install a 100-A to 200-A electric panel: $625 per panel
  • Install an electric panel, 200 A or greater: $1,300 per panel
  • Electrical work to connect an electric vehicle charging terminal: $370 per dwelling unit affected
  • Replace an asphalted area or concrete slab of at least 10 m² with a vegetated surface or grass pavers: $1,700 per building
  • Fill in a garage entrance: $10,300 per building
  • Raising a driveway: $1,050 per building
  • Redo the garage entrance gutter: $525 per gutter
  • Installing a watertight door: $3,500
  • Installing a watertight garage door: $9,750
  • Install a door flood barrier: $725
  • Install a garage flood barrier: $1,700

Block 2

  • Excavate the soil around foundations: $190 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a structural element: $270 per pile
  • Install a pile under a concrete wall (not a common wall): $600 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation wall (not a common wall): $800 per pile

  • Redo roof ridge, including cornices and mansards other than in shingles: $180 per linear metre
  • Insulate an above-grade exterior wall: $4 per square metre and per R4 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
  • Insulate the roof void or attic: $3 per square metre and per R20 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
  • Install a green roof (vegetated roof): $100 per square metre
  • Redo a pitched roof: $30 per square metre
  • Redo roof, with a white membrane: $70 per square metre
  • Install rigid insulation on the roof: $3 per square metre
  • Replace a fixed or operable window: $410 per window
  • Replace a skylight: $650 per skylight
  • Replace a door: $550 per door
  • Restore a wood door: $440 per door
  • Replace a door (with transom): $700 per door
  • Install a patio-door: $700 per door
  • Redo a balcony: $240 per square metre
  • Completely replace a staircase with a welded metal structure staircase: $140 per step
  • Replace a railing: $70 per linear metre
  • Replace a curved railing: $110 per linear metre
  • Replace a lead water-service entry: $1,600 per building
  • Installing a normally closed check valve: $90
  • Install a back flow stop valve, “normally closed” type, under an existing slab: $600 per valve

  • Demolish a secondary building: $2,000 per building
  • Replace an asphalted area or concrete slab of at least 10 m² with a vegetated surface or grass pavers: $1,700 per building
  • Fill in a garage entrance: $10,300 per building
  • Raising a driveway: $1,050 per building
  • Redo the garage entrance gutter: $525 per gutter
  • Installing a watertight door: $3,500
  • Installing a watertight garage door: $9,750
  • Install a door flood barrier: $725
