Find out everything you need to know about the current situation and the borough’s preparations for spring flooding.

Current situation

Water levels are stable or decreasing, and the borough is gradually returning to normal. The removal of flood protection measures will begin in the coming days.

Protective measures removal

Residents removing dikes or protective barriers on their property are asked to follow these instructions.

Used sandbags

Used sandbags must be placed on a pallet so they can be collected during cleanup operations.

  • Sandbags must be stacked neatly on the pallet (similar to Jenga blocks), not piled randomly.
  • The pallet must be placed at the curb to allow access for heavy trucks. The open side of the pallet should face the sidewalk to make it easier to pick up.

Requesting a pallet

If you need a pallet, please contact public safety at 514-620-7729.

Sandbag collection

Sandbag pickup will take place by collection sector. The deadline for putting out your pallets will be announced only on the borough’s Facebook, website, and electronic message boards.

IMPORTANT: Sandbags not placed on a pallet will not be collected. Residents may also bring them to the borough ecocentre or municipal drop-off site.

Be prepared : prevention is everyone’s responsability!

If you live in an area at risk of flooding, we recommend that you remain vigilant and monitor the situation as it evolves, while taking the necessary measures to protect your property and family.

It is important to keep all protective measures in place in anticipation of rising water levels.
