Tech support
For security reasons, the application requires a minimum operating system version.
- Android: Version 10 or higher
- iOS: Version 13 or higher
- iPadOS : Version 13 or higher
During startup, the OS version is displayed at the bottom of the screen:
- V3.0.0 = New version
- V2.2.10 = Old version (not supported)
Close the app completely, then restart it.
If that doesn’t work:
Android
Clear the app’s cache:
- Open Settings
- Select Applications
- Find 311 Montréal
- Go to Storage
- Tap Clear Cache and/or Clear Data
iOS
- Delete the app:
- Press and hold the icon
- Select Remove app
- Download again from the App Store (search for 311 Montréal)
The app is available in French and English.
By default, it is displayed in French, but you can change the language at any time from:
- The app’s home screen
- Profile > Settings > Language
You can change your preferences for notifications and alerts in:
- Info > Account Settings

Snow removal
Tip: Receive targeted notifications
To track snow removal in your area:
1-Open the Snow Removal Map tab.
2-Click on the star icon to add the street sections you are interested in to your favorites. You will receive specific notifications for each favorite you add.
You can choose to receive reminders by vehicle location or a street side you’ve saved as a favourite.
How to do it
- Go to the Map tab
- Search for an address (it will be pinned on the map)
- Tap a street side to:
- Add to favorites (tap the star icon) to receive a notification on the progress of oprations.
- Link a car (save the location of your vehicule) to receivre a reminder 1 hour besfore snow removal.
Selected car
- Save the position of your vehicle to track this side of the street.
- Only 1 selection is possible.
- You will receive a reminder 1 hour before snow loading begins.
Favourites
- Add as many street sides as you want by tapping the star icon.
- You will receive a notification for each favourite.
Things to know
If you add a lot of street sides to your favourites, keep in mind that you will receive notifications for all of the streets you have favourited.
If you’re not getting notifications, here are some things to check:
- Are notifications enabled in your device settings?
- To check, click Info > Notifications (this opens your phone’s settings).
- Is the app up to date?
- Have you restarted your device?
- After reinstalling, did you enable permissions correctly?
Notifications

How to receive them?
- No account required.
- Enable them in your phone settings.
- Add favorites in the Snow Removal Map tab for notifications targeted by street section.
Alerts
Official information from the City (e.g., start of snow removal operations, construction, emergencies).
How to receive them?
- Registration required via your citizen account on montreal.ca, under “Notices and Alerts.”
Tip
Combine the two:
Notifications for personalized alerts targeted to your favorites.
Alerts for general and official information (e.g., boil water advisories, flooding, pool closures).
Check if notifications are enabled in your settings:
- Are notifications enabled in your device settings?
- To check, click Info > Notifications (this will open your phone settings).
- Is the app up to date?
- Have you restarted your device?
- After reinstalling, have you granted the necessary permissions?
We do everything we can to meet the turnaround times we announce for snow removal. However, changes may occur in the event of an emergency or unforeseen conditions.
Signage takes precedence over instructions displayed in the app.
If you notice a discrepancy between signage and information displayed in the app, let us know.
Before the snow is loaded, our teams clear snow from the roadway and compact cleared snow on each side.
Snow loading is when the compacted snow is removed. Snow loading is planned according to the weather forecast and snow accumulations. In fact, snow loading is not always necessary.
The app only shows the loading stage, not the clearing stage.
Notifications and alerts
You can receive alerts by email or text message by subscribing to the service:
- Create an account or Log in
- Access your communication preferences to choose the types of alerts and topics that interest you.

You can view notices and alerts in the Alerts section of the app.
Good to know
Notifications are not yet available in the mobile app.
Submit service requests
To check the status of your report:
- Log in to My Account in the mobile app.
- If your first name appears, you are already logged in.
- Select the tab to view the details and status of the issue.
Please note
If you are offline or if the report was made anonymously, tracking is not available.
You can submit a report to our teams without logging into your account.
You will not receive any updates on your request, as we will not have your contact details.
