Evaluation

Any artist or craftsperson who is a first-time applicant, who has not had a permit for at least 1 year, or who wants to sell another type of art and/or craft must participate in an evaluation in front of a jury in October (date to be announced). The art and/or craft requires accreditation by the jury before the artist or craftsperson can apply for a permit. 

Following a successful evaluation, a notice of compliance is issued, which is valid as long as your permit is renewed annually.

Permitted types of arts and crafts

Only handcrafted works and original pictorial or graphic creations are allowed to be exhibited or sold on public property. All work must be entirely created, designed, and produced by the artist or craftsperson, drawing on recognized personal expertise. Work must be original, unique or produced in limited quantity, and cannot come from industrial, commercial or standardized production. 

Reselling products that are manufactured, imported or acquired from a third party is strictly prohibited, regardless of their level of processing, assembly or customization.

These rules aim to ensure the authenticity of arts and crafts presented in public spaces, promote local original creation and preserve the integrity of the program.

Location assignment

Only persons who hold valid accreditation issued by the evaluation panel may participate in the location assignment meetings.

These meetings are held on different dates, depending on the permit category and your profession. 

• Craftspeople: November 18, 2026
• Exhibitors: November 19, 2026

Locations are assigned based on length of service, and when multiple people have the same number of years of service, they are assigned by random draw.

If you cannot attend, you must delegate a representative with a dated and signed power of attorney. 

If the city deems it relevant, you may be required to participate in a free photo shoot.

Apply for your permit

Permits are issued beginning January 4, 2027. They are valid from the date of issue until January 31 of the same year. You must renew your permit annually.

Registration

You must complete the city’s electronic registration form, which you will receive by e-mail, and return it before the registration period.
