Every pet abandonment is motivated by a reason such as moving, your pet’s health, allergies, veterinary care costs, etc. If you think your pet has a behavioural issue, please see a veterinarian who can, if necessary, refer you to a specialist.

Ask around to see if anyone you know wants to give your pet a new home. 

There are outdoor bulletin boards around Montréal where you can put up posters free of charge. Some groups can also help you rehome your pet.

If you cannot find a new home for your pet, make an appointment to bring your pet to Proanima and complete the surrender form.

You then have 15 days to cancel your cat or dog license.
