Signage for snow removal operations
Street parking is prohibited at times to provide for snow loading. “No parking” signs are put up: make sure you comply with them.
During snow loading operations, some boroughs put up signs to warn drivers that snow removal vehicles will be going through and to let them know that street parking is prohibited.
Temporary parking signs
In general, signs prohibiting parking from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. go up on the same day before 3 p.m..
Signs prohibiting parking from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. go up on the previous day before 8 p.m.
However, in Anjou, signs are posted 8 hours before the ban begins.
In Saint-Laurent, signs are generally installed during the shift that precedes the shift during which the snow is to be cleared from the street. They are sometimes installed four hours before vehicles are towed and their owners are fined.
Temporary parking signs take priority over permanent parking signs, which must still be obeyed.
Permanent parking signs
In LaSalle, Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Verdun, parking bans related to snow loading are also displayed on permanent signs.
In LaSalle and Verdun, call the number on the signs to find out if a parking ban applies.
In Pierrefonds-Roxboro, a parking ban is in effect every day between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from November 1 to April 1.
If you do not comply with signage, your vehicle will be towed and you will be fined.
If you notice a signage error, you can let us know.
