The Ahuntsic-Cartierville public works department now consistently monitors water levels as part of its regular operations. Every year, an experienced team works relentlessly to protect public infrastructures from rising water levels.

Update – April 19, 2026
Our teams are hard at work preparing for the spring runoff. Field inspections are conducted daily to properly plan our actions and respond quickly if needed. To date, dikes or protective walls (muscle walls) have been installed on the following streets:

  • Notre-Dame-des-Anges Street
    Crevier Street
    Cousineau Street
    Olivier Street
    Leblanc Street
    Du Ruisseau Street

Dikes will be installed on April 19 on the following street:

  • Jasmin Street

⇒ Important: Do not park your vehicle in at-risk areas, as this may hinder the work of teams installing dikes on site.

Sandbags are being distributed to residents, as needed.
