Strategic plan: Taking action for Montréal 2026-2030
This Strategic plan establishes the key priorities that will guide the municipal administration’s decisions, investments and actions through 2030. It is Montréal’s main planning tool.
Like many of the world’s large cities, Montréal faces significant challenges. Among them, social crises, the dwindling affordable housing supply, the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, the infrastructure maintenance deficit, as well as intensifying pressure on public finance are cause for concern.
To face these challenges, the city has set out an ambitious vision for the future of our metropolis, including concrete objectives to guide its actions and better meet the expectations all Montrealers.
Strategic priorities
The plan outlines 6 strategic priorities:
- Exceptional living environments for residents
- A prosperous and vibrant metropolis
- Housing for all and a robust social safety net
- Planned, effective and inclusive mobility
- A green, resilient and sustainable city
- Efficient municipal management
Implementation
The Strategic plan will be rolled out based on specific targets and indicators for every objective, while roadmaps outlining priority actions for each administrative unit will provide the framework for its successful implementation.
