Ahuntsic-Cartierville, in collaboration with the Ville en vert organization, would like to encourage the use of washable hygiene products in order to reduce the quantity of landfilled waste by offering subsidies.

Eligible products:

  • Underwear for urinary leakage and incontinence
  • Washable inserts

Grant

  • 50% of the pre-tax purchase cost of purchasing eligible products
  • Up to a maximum of $75
  • $30 minimum purchase required

One subsidy per person. Low-income families are eligible for higher levels of financial assistance.

Borough residents who purchased the products between January 1 and December 31 of the current year.

When to apply

Until December 31 of the current year or as long as funds last.

  • Registration form (in French) and service contract, filled out and signed
  •  Two proofs of borough residence that are less than two months old
  •  Invoice for the purchase of new or used sustainable hygiene products


To benefit from social pricing, the Revenu Québec notice of assessment will also be required.

Subsidy

This program will reimburse 50 per cent of the cost of hygiene products, up to $100 per person in one transaction per applicant. This subsidy includes the purchase of reusable feminine hygiene products.

Grants will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are spent.

Requirement

Commit to using the subsidized products.

Grant

  • Application forms available from July 5 at 1 p.m.
  • 140 subsidies of $50 per people
  • Subsidies are set, and 50 per cent of the total amount will be reserved for people having had an income equal to or less than, for the previous year, $27,514 for a one-person household; $34,254 for two people; $42,111 for three people and $51,128 for a four-person household.
  • Only one subsidy per people.

Eligible for a grant

  • Reside on the Plateau-Mont-Royal
  • Complete the subsidy form (in French) and send it with all required documents.
  • Commit to using the subsidized products.

Required documents

  • Provide proof of residence that shows your address. 
  • Provide cumulative proof of purchase (online, in a store or secondhand) for a total of at least $50, over the past 12 months.
  • Cheque specimen to receive the grant.
  • If applicable, proof of low income (notice of assessment from the previous year, or three social assistance or employment insurance pay stubs.

Regular program

A maximum refund of 66 per cent of the products’ purchase price, up to a maximum of $50, is available.

Social pricing

A maximum refund of 100 per cent of the products’ purchase price, up to a maximum of $75, is available for low-income households. To determine accessibility for this reimbursement, the borough uses the thresholds under the Accès-Loisirs program.

Subsidies will be offered in the order in which applications are received until funds are exhausted.

  • Proof of residence in the borough among the following: 
    • Driver’s license
    • Public service account
    • Account statement from an educational institution (tuition fees)

    • Hospital card (if the address is on it and the card is still valid)
  • Proof of purchase (original invoice) of new, sustainable hygiene products. The purchase must have been made between October 2, 2023 and December 31, 2024.
  • Void cheque for direct deposit refund
  • If applicable, to get social pricing: 
    • Proof of income (notice of assessment from Revenu Québec or the Canada Revenue Agency)

  • Send the duly completed grant application form and the following required documents before December 31, 2024, or until funds are exhausted;
  • Commit to using hygiene products purchased with the grant for their service life;

  • Submit only one application per person.

  • Two proofs of residence (electricity, tax, telephone or similar bill, valid driver’s license or bank statement)
  • Photocopy and original purchase invoices (purchase must have been made between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024). Original invoices will be returned by mail with the reimbursement cheque and the organization’s stamp on the invoice.

Pierrefonds-Roxboro, in collaboration with the organization VertCité, wishes to support the use of sustainable personal hygiene products with the objective of reducing the amount of household waste produced within borough limits.

Who can receive a subsidy?

Subsidy

Saint-Laurent, in collaboration with the VertCité organization, would like to encourage the use of washable hygiene products in order to reduce the quantity of landfilled waste by offering subsidies.

Eligible products:

  • Washable underwear for urinary leakage and incontinence
  • Waterproof bags for washable and sustainable hygiene products
  • Washable inserts
  • Washable nursing pads
  • Training pants (ages 12 months and over)
  • Washable diapers (adults)
  • Washable hankies and toilet paper
  • Bidets
  • Bidet toilet seats
  • Removable bidets
  • Bidet spray

Grant

  • 50% of the bill, for a maximum of $150 before taxes.
  • 70% up to a maximum of $210 is offered to low-income families. Consult the low income cut-offs of the community of 500,000 and more on the Statistics Canada website.
  • An additional 10% for a maximum of $30 of the total invoice, before taxes, is offered for products made in Québec.

Only one subsidy per address per year is available. If you have several purchases planned during the year, plan them in advance so that you can combine your invoices to complete your annual application.

Who is eligible for a grant?

Borough residents who purchased the products between January 1, 2024, and November 30, 2024, until funds allocated to the program are exhausted.

Applications must be received by November 30, 2024.

  • Copy of the purchase or rental bill with items clearly identified and highlighted
  • Copy of a proof of residence in the borough: e.g., driver’s licence (copy on both sides of the card), public utility bill
  • Image on the Kijiji/Marketplace ad posted to sell a used product and the payment transaction
  • Cheque specimen or banking information for the direct deposit refund
  • In order to benefit from social pricing, the most recent copy of the Revenu Québec notice of assessment for each person in the household will be required.

All documents and invoices must be in the name and address of the person requesting the grant.

A bill can feature various products that are eligible under the borough’s subsidy programs. However, one application form must be completed for each subsidy program. Please view the products that are eligible under the applicable programs for further details.
