Free: supervised activities and sports equipment in Lachine's parks
In winther and summer, you can borrow sports equipment for personal practice or take part in various supervised activities.

What you can borrow in winter:
- Skates, hockey sticks, pucks, skating training aids and more (at parc Michel-Ménard)
- Skates and skating training aids (at parc Kirkland)
- Sleds, crampons, walking sticks and snowshoes for children and adults (at bibliothèque Saul-Bellow)
What you can borrow in summer:
Spikeball equipment, Ultimate frisbee, Bean bags, Soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, volleyballs, Tennis and pickleball equipment and more. They can be borrowed at these places :
- centre de tennis du parc LaSalle (at the centre de tennis)
- parc Kirkland welcome center
- parc Carignan welcome center
Eligibility
- Have a valid library card, Accès Lachine card or Accès Montréal card.
- Be 10 years old or more. If applicable, be accompanied by a person 15 years old or older.
Supervised activities for youngsters
A team of activity leaders will be touring the parks to organize games with the youngsters on site, according to the following schedule:
Winter 2026 (starting January 8)
- Parc Kirkland, Monday to Friday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Parc Michel-Ménard, Thursday and Friday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Summer 2025*
- Parc Carignan, August 13 and 20, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.,
- Parc Grovehill, August 12 and 19, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Parc Kirkland, August 10 and 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., August 11 and 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Parc LaSalle, August 14 and 21, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.,
*Schedule will be updated in Spring 2026.

The sports equipment loan service is a combined effort by Lachine’s youth council, Lachine’s libraries and Arrondissement de Lachine’s Division des sports, loisirs et développement social. Winter sports equipment has been purchased through the Circonflexe program, an initiative of Sport et Loisir de l’île de Montréal, with financial support from the Ministère de l’Éducation.
