Get an Accès Montréal card
If you want to benefit from special rates on cultural, sports and recreation activities in Montréal, find out how to obtain an Accès Montréal card.
Residents of the island of Montréaland anyone who owns residential, commercial or industrial property in the city can obtain an Accès Montréal card.
You can purchase an Accès Montréal card for all people who live at the same address as you. You must provide photo ID and a photo for each cardholder, along with one proof of address dated less than one year. Proof of address for one parent is required for children under 14 years of age.
Owners of a building or lot in Montréal must provide proof of address for their property: their most recent municipal or school tax account.

Children under the age of 4 can generally enjoy activities free of charge (check with Accès Montréal partners).
The card is valid for one year.
Photo service
Most Accès Montréal offices offer photo service, except for Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève and Pierrefonds-Roxboro. Fees ranging from $2.50 to $6 may apply for each photo.
Depending on the borough, it may also be possible to provide a recent photo (digital or paper), even if a photo service is available on site. Please check the specific terms and conditions at your Accès Montréal office.
Required documents
You will need to submit with your application:
One of the following documents, as ID:
- Québec driver’s license
- Passport
- Québec health insurance card
- Student card with photo
- Permanent resident card
One of the following documents, as proof of address:
- School or municipal tax account
- Bill from a public utility (Hydro-Québec, telephone or other) less than 3 months old
- Monthly statement from a credit or financial institution
- Notice of assessment from Revenu Québec or the Canada Revenue Agency
- Account statement (educational fees) or report card from an educational institution
- Québec driver’s license
Get a card
You will receive your new card by mail within 3 weeks of your application being processed. The invoice with the temporary card valid for a period of 6 months is sent as soon as processing is complete. It may take 3 to 15 working days for your application to be processed and for you to receive the bill by email.
Be sure that you have a digital copy of your documents: a proof of identity and a photo for each new subscriber, and a proof of residence per application.
Visit one of our Accès Montréal offices and bring proof of residence, photo ID and a photo for each new cardholder with you. (Several Bureaux Accès Montréal offices offer photo services for a fee. Check with your local office.)
You will receive a temporary card. You can use it until you receive your Accès Montréal card in the mail within a maximum of 6 months.

- Debit card or credit card (MasterCard, Visa)
- Cheque or money order payable to “Ville de Montréal” or “Accès Montréal card”
