Grant

80 Montréal-Nord families will be eligible for a grant covering 75 per cent of the cost of purchase or rental of washable diapers, up to a maximum of $125 per child.

Disposable diapers can cost between $1,500 and $2,000 per child before they’re toilet trained, while it costs between $450 and $750 (before financial assistance) to use cloth diapers.

Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted, and are non-renewable (one grant per child). It is also possible to fill out a paper application in person at Éco-quartier offices and Accès-Montréal offices.

Who is eligible for a grant?

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a resident of Montreal-Nord.
  • Be a parent of a child under 24 months of age.
  • Commit to using cloth diapers for the entire time the child is in diapers.
