How to file a complaint concerning noise from a business establishment

Last updated May 10, 2024

Does music from a bar keep you awake at night? Or is it noise from a rehearsal space that bothers you? You can file a complaint. Here’s how to do it.

A complaint about noise from a business may concern loud music or noisy customers from a restaurant, bar, terrace, theatre or rehearsal room. Noise coming from an auto repair shop or any other business can also be reported.

Select your borough to find out what the current regulations are and whether your complaint is valid. Which organization you must contact to stop the noise also varies from borough to borough.
