How to file a local noise complaint

Is the party next door preventing you from sleeping? A noisy car idling on your street? Learn what you need to know in order to file a complaint.

A neighbourhood noise complaint can include:

  • A party at a neighbour’s house
  • A noisy vehicle or shouting in the street
  • Outdoor maintenance with motorized tools
  • Air conditioners and heat pumps 
  • Delivery of goods and collection of commercial waste

Heavy vehicles

  • Truck traffic is permitted at all times on major thoroughfares, but is allowed on secondary streets only for deliveries. 
  • Trucks may be loaded and unloaded beginning at 7 a.m.
  • Emptying waste containers is permitted between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Snow removal

  • You can use a snow blower or similar device at any time to clear snow from a driveway.
