Organization profile terms and conditions
Are you applying for a permit or service on behalf of an organization? To create or use an organization profile on montreal.ca, you must accept these terms and conditions.
Using their organization profile, companies, associations, independent workers, public organizations and their representatives can create applications online for both existing and new services and track their progress.
Actions that are performed and applications that are completed electronically have the same legal weight as those performed or completed in person.
Rights and obligations of the organization
The organization must authorize a primary administrator who will be in charge of the organization’s profile on the montreal.ca Web site. The person who creates the organization’s profile on montreal.ca must confirm that he or she is authorized to do so and will become the primary administrator.
By creating the organization’s profile, both the primary administrator and the organization accept these terms and conditions which are governed by applicable laws in Québec.
Any litigation related to the terms and conditions shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the province of Québec, in the district of Montréal.
Rights and obligations of the primary administrator and members of the organization
The primary administrator has access to all features of the organization’s profile. He or she can provide or edit information about the organization as long as his or her status is active.
The primary administrator is responsible for:
- Managing the organization’s profile and ensuring that information is specific, accurate and up to date.
- Managing users and access rights.
- Making sure that all of the organization’s members keep their personal information up to date.
Furthermore, all members of the organization, including the primary administrator, must:
- Provide accurate personal information and keep it up to date.
- Maintain the confidentiality of their usernames and passwords.
- Alert the city immediately in the event of unauthorized use of their account or password, or any other security infraction.
- Despite all precautions that are taken, accept and recognize that data transmitted over the Internet is never totally private or protected. Users understand that messages or information exchanged through the montreal.ca Web site may be read or intercepted, notwithstanding any references that indicate encryption of a particular transaction (such as credit cards).
- Give their consent to receive electronic communications.
Deletion of inactive accounts
Accounts that have been inactive for more than 3 years (no connections, requests, changes, etc.) will be deleted. The main administrator will be informed by email 3 months prior to the deletion of the account.
Rights and obligations of the city
The city can terminate your access to the organization profile if the terms and conditions are violated.
It can also require you to provide documents that prove the existence of the organization and the identity of its representatives.
The city reserves the right to share the first and last name of the primary administrator in the case of a duplicate Québec enterprise number when a new organization is created.
If one of the organization’s employees visits one of the city’s points of service, he or she can perform one of the following actions:
- If the organization already exists on montreal.ca, the city can add the representative as a user if the representative declares that he or she is authorized to represent the organization. The city can then assign the user restricted rights with which he or she can apply for certain city services. The primary administrator will be notified and can assign a role to the new user.
- If the organization does not yet exist on montreal.ca, the city can create the organization’s profile as long as the applicant declares that he or she is duly authorized by the organization to create its profile on the montreal.ca Web site.
By using the organization profile, you accept all conditions related to the montreal.ca confidentiality policy, particularly the section on limited liability.
You acknowledge having read and understood the conditions of the site and agree to be bound by these conditions.
