Discover the Future Public Square of Pierrefonds‑Roxboro All April long at the Pierrefonds Library.

Description

The Pierrefonds Library invites you to dive into the heart of architectural creativity! Come discover the drawings and plans submitted by the four finalist teams of the landscape architecture competition launched by our Borough in December 2024 to imagine the future public square of Pierrefonds‑Roxboro.

This unique exhibition offers the public, architecture enthusiasts, urban design professionals, and students in the field an opportunity to explore these design proposals and see firsthand the vision presented by the winning team.

 A Large-Format Panel Exhibition

Presented for the first time, the exhibition brings together eight oversized panels, with two boards dedicated to each of the four finalist teams:

  • ADHOC + Hélio Araujo + GBI

  • NIPPAYSAGE + Eurêka Environnement

  • Pelletier de Fontenay + Enclume + Nouveaux Voisins + LN Paysage

  • WAA Montréal + Ponton Guillot

Visitors will be able to compare each team’s approach, creativity, and proposed solutions for transforming this strategic sector of the borough.

A Rigorous Competition, Inspiring Proposals

In April 2025, after reviewing 13 anonymous submissions, a multidisciplinary jury selected the four finalist teams based on the quality of their vision, the innovation of their ideas, and their understanding of the site’s challenges.

The exhibition will also allow visitors to discover the winning proposal, which will guide the creation of the new public square.

A Resilient, Inclusive, and Refreshing Public Space

The future public square—covering approximately 7,500 m²—will become a year‑round gathering place designed to:

  • withstand climate‑related events, including recurrent heavy rainfall;

  • integrate best practices for development in flood‑prone areas;

  • serve as a cooling oasis thanks to abundant vegetation and climate‑appropriate features;

  • offer an accessible and inclusive environment designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of users.

This project represents a unique opportunity to implement innovative and sustainable solutions that will help shape the future of the borough

An Ideal Moment to Discover These Projects

The opening of the exhibition coincides with the near completion of the aquatic complex—a milestone in the transformation of the area. It’s a great opportunity to understand how this new public square will integrate into a rapidly evolving environment.
