Saint-Laurent is inviting residents, between now and October 31, to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of photography with Grand Angle, the borough’s first-ever month dedicated to photography.

Exhibitions, workshops, screenings and activities will be held at libraries, at the Centre d’exposition Lethbridge and in public places, offering residents an immersive, participatory artistic experience.

A month to create, share and be amazed

Supported by artists, cultural mediators and dedicated librarians, Grand Angle offers a rich, inclusive, accessible program.

With Grand Angle, Saint-Laurent is bringing photography within everyone’s reach. Activities are free, some require reservations and are open to all ages and skill levels in a variety of formats. They are designed for both the curious-minded and experienced enthusiasts.

Take note of the following highlights:

  • Screening:
    • Ernest Cole, photographer, October 7 at 7:30 p.m.: Cégep de Saint-Laurent will host a screening of this documentary tracing the career of the first independent Black photographer in South Africa during apartheid. A guest artist will be on hand to talk with the audience.
  • Creative workshop:
  • Exhibition:
    • Radiooscopy of sleepers by Caroline Hayeur, October 15 - January 26 at the Centre d’exposition Lethbridge. Vernissage on October 25 at 2 p.m.

By launching our Grand Angle event, we want to give Saint-Laurent residents a unique opportunity to discover photography in all its forms as well as learn about it, practise it and share it. This event is a perfect demonstration of our commitment to making culture accessible, inclusive and forward-looking. By showcasing the talent of local artists and creating spaces for exchange and creation, we are strengthening the social and cultural fabric of our community. I am proud to see Saint-Laurent so vibrantly engaged in this first edition, which I hope will become a must for photography enthusiasts and curious minds of all ages.
