This annual awards ceremony is the culmination of a program that starts in the spring with the free distribution of plants and seeds by the Arrondissement during Garden month, in May. The people of Saint-Laurent are then invited to register their in-ground or balcony gardens for the Mon Jardin écolo contest in July and to share them on social media during the voting period in August.

In September, prizes are awarded for the gardens that receive the most votes in each of Saint-Laurent’s four collection zones. In addition, nine prizes are awarded for the community gardens, with the winners being selected by the garden representatives.
