"Un enfant, un arbre" (One Child, One Tree) program

Last updated January 25, 2023

What better way to celebrate life than by planting a tree? Some boroughs give new parents the opportunity to plant a tree to mark the birth or adoption of their child.

The objective of the Un enfant, un arbre program is to celebrate the arrival of a new child, whether through birth or adoption, by planting a tree.

The public tree management system associates the child with the tree, which makes it easy to know the tree’s precise location.

Tree allocation and planting conditions can vary from borough to borough. Most of the time, the tree is planted on public property, but your borough may allow residents to plant the tree on private property.

Participation in this program is free of charge.
