"Un arbre, une naissance, une mémoire" (One Tree, One Birth: One Memory) program

Last updated January 16, 2024

In some boroughs, you can adopt an existing tree or have a tree planted to celebrate the birth, adoption or memory of a loved one.

You will receive a certificate in the mail indicating the type of tree and where it is located. The tree and the person you are commemorating are connected in the public tree management system.

Conditions for adopting and planting trees vary according to your borough. Most of the time, trees are planted in public places like parks, but in some cases, you can ask to have a tree planted on your private property.

Find out whether your borough offers the program and what the eligibility conditions are. Your participation is free of charge.
