Work on Avenue Chanteclerc: news and impact

Where?

Avenue Chanteclerc, between Boulevard des Sources and Montréal International Airport

When?

July 2022 to summer 2023

What?

To reduce impacts on the district and ensure traffic flow, the cities of Pointe-Claire, Dorval and Montréal have decided to carry out the work jointly. In addition to the construction of a water main, repair of a secondary line and several roadway projects are also planned.

Work in progress

Work will start in the section between Boulevard des Sources and Avenue Deslauriers, then on the Airport land as well as on Avenue Chanteclerc up to the Surrey dog park.

Three phases are planned:

Beginning summer 2022:

● Avenue Chanteclerc, between Boulevard des Sources and Avenue Deslauriers

● Airport land and dog park

From fall 2022:

● Avenue Chanteclerc, between Boulevard Graham and Avenue Deslauriers

Work hours

Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Getting around during the project

Travaux d’excavation

Début : semaine du 6 mars

Fin prévue : début mai

Les travaux en cours dans l’avenue Chanteclerc nécessitent l’excavation de deux puits de grand diamètre afin de permettre l’installation de la nouvelle conduite.

Circulation

  • Pour permettre l’excavation, l’avenue Chanteclerc, entre le boulevard Strathmore et l’avenue Goldfinch, sera fermée à la circulation des véhicules, à l’exception de la circulation locale. Des détours seront prévus.

Stationnement

  • Tout au long de cette intervention, les résidents qui demeurent aux adresses suivantes : 2250, 2255, 2260, 2275 avenue Chanteclerc et 705, boulevard Strathmore n’auront pas accès à leur entrée charretière. Les riverains concernés seront rencontrés personnellement. De plus, des emplacements de stationnement réservés pour eux seront aménagés à l’intersection des avenues Goldfinch et Chanteclerc.

Bruit et poussière

  • Bruit et poussière causés par les travaux de forage. Ces travaux auront lieu à la mi-mars, pour une durée maximale de 4 heures.

Automobile traffic

  • Closure of Avenue Chanteclerc, from Boulevard des Sources to the Surrey dog park. Local access is allowed.
  • Partial closure of Boulevard des Sources. One lane removed between Croissant Dubord and Avenue Chanteclerc.
  • Detours are anticipated to improve traffic flow

Parking

  • Access to homes and their parking areas will be maintained
  • On-street parking restrictions will be in effect

Pedestrians

  • Detour routes will be provided as needed; pedestrian corridors will be maintained

Temporary water supply

A temporary water network will be created to ensure drinking water is provided to buildings on the north side of Avenue Chanteclerc, between Boulevard Des Sources and Avenue Deslauriers. Water quality will not be affected.

Noise disturbance

Vibrations

Excavation needed to complete the work will cause vibrations. All requirements in effect will be respected.

Construction work likely to generate noise will be limited to between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., on weekdays. However, in order to meet the completion schedule and in compliance with municipal regulations, work may continue into the evening or the weekend.
