You can obtain parking spaces to use for a valet service. In some cases, the borough may designate spaces that are common to multiple establishments.

Conditions 

  • Vehicles should not be stopped for more than five minutes between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m.
  • For valet parking, the walking distance from the parking lot to the restaurant must be five minutes or less
  • Valet parking is not permitted on the street
  • Street maintenance signage has priority over valet parking signage

Information to provide

  • Documents showing that you have access to off-street parking near your restaurant, such as a lease for parking spaces in a private lot (with an operating permit)
  • Sketch showing the exact location of the parking lot and the route from the restaurant to the parking lot and back
  • Maximum capacity of the business
  • Number of reserved parking spaces
  • Average duration of a meal for two or four people
  • Opening and closing hours of the restaurant
  • Valet parking schedule
  • Number of valets on duty per day and per hour

In some cases, the borough may designate common valet parking spaces for multiple businesses.

You can apply for a valet service parking zone if:

  • You are operating a restaurant, bar or cultural institution;
  • Your business is located in an area where the lack of parking is an obstacle to its success;
  • The walking distance from the parking lot to your business does not exceed five minutes.

 You must attach the following information to your application:

  • The maximum capacity of the business;
  • The number of reserved parking spaces;
  • Opening hours of your business;
  • The proposed schedule for valet service;
  • The number of car attendants available per day and per hour.

For one-time events that last for fewer than four weeks, the rates are the same as for the “temporary occupancy for construction purposes” permit. 

An annual invoice will be sent.
