Parc du Mont-Royal
Parc du Mont-Royal, Montréal’s green jewel, is affectionately known as “the mountain.” The park is home to an exceptional fauna and flora well worth discovering.
Description
In summer, take a break in the shade of large trees, have a picnic, discover the mountainside cross or Lac aux Castors, or enjoy a run or a bike ride.
Take advantage of your visit to the mountain to rent a rowboat or try your hand at Spikeball and Finnish bowling (Mölkky). Consult the schedule and rates to help you plan your visit.
Cool off at Café des Amis on Lac-aux-Castors, Chalet du Mont-Royal and Maison Smith. Consult the café schedule.
In winter, visitors come for the slide (inner-tube corridors and a free-ride track), its refrigerated skating rink as well as its walking (8 km), cross-country skiing (16 km) and snowshoeing (3 km) trails.
A visitor centre near Beaver Lake offers equipment rental services.
Head to Maison Smith to discover the fascinating installations showcasing the history of Mount Royal.
Three all-terrain wheelchairs adapted for trail riding on hard-packed snow are available for free loan. No reservations required. First come, first served.
