Directed by Sarah Polley.

Drama | United States of America | 2022 | 104 minutes

In a patriarchal religious community, women and girls have been subjected to repeated assaults by strangers for years. Their complaints are ignored and downplayed by the community, until irrefutable evidence is uncovered. In response, the leaders give them an ultimatum: forgive the perpetrators or be exiled and excommunicated. In the men’s absence, they debate three options: forgive, stay and fight, or leave the colony. Adapted from the book of the same name by Miriam Toews (2018).

For adult audiences. In French.
