The 2021 budget and the 2021-2030 Ten-year capital works program aim to meet the needs of Montréal’s population in this time of crisis, while preparing the economic recovery of our metropolis. With this as a focus for our new budget, Montréal continues to work towards economic development, the ecological transition, sustainable mobility, housing, as well as solidarity, equity and inclusion.

A balanced budget totaling $6.17 G

Despite a difficult financial context, the city was able to adapt and to find solutions to present a balanced budget, one that does not place an additional tax burden on households, while maintaining quality services and preparing a brighter future for Montrealers.

A Ten-year capital works program totally $18.69 G

For the very first time in its history, Montréal is presenting a Ten-year capital works program instead of its usual Three-year capital works program. The Ten-year capital works program includes investment projects and programs that the city aims either to realize or to undertake over the next 10 years, particularly focusing on its aging infrastructures. Investments planned as part of the Ten-year capital works program for 2021-2030 represent on average the amount of $1.9 G per year.
