Are you a member of the Montréal library network and want to enjoy winter to the fullest? You can borrow snowshoes, sleds, crampons and walking sticks from four city libraries.

Equipment available

  • Sleds for children
  • Snowshoes for adults
  • Snowshoes for children
  • Snowshoe tails
  • Walking sticks for adults

Borrow equipment

Before going to any of the following four libraries, use the Nelligan catalogue to check that the equipment you want to borrow is available:

  • Bibliothèque Mordecai-Richler
  • Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow
  • Bibliothèque Marie-Uguay
  • Bibliothèque de Rosemont

Children under age 14 who want to borrow equipment must be accompanied by an adult when they come to the library.

Borrowing period

The equipment is lent to you for a period of seven consecutive days. You cannot extend the borrowing time.

Equipment return

  • You must return the equipment to the library counter where you borrowed it
  • Equipment must be returned clean, dry, and in good condition, in its protective case and with all the accessories, if applicable.

Users’ responsibility

  • You are responsible for the equipment you borrow until you bring it back to the library counter.

This service is part of Parc actif, a program coordinated by Sport et Loisir de l’île de Montréal (SLIM), which is made possible thanks to support from the Ministère de l’Éducation.
