Buzzing gardens at the Pierrefonds Library
Discover our new pollinator garden around the Pierrefonds Library! This project is the result of a collaboration with Jardin Buzz, and was made possible thanks to the support and networking services of MontréalCulteurs.
Buzzing gardens
Portions of land were loaned to the organisation to create “farms” of native flowers and perennials. These pollinator-friendly arrangements will help to improve biodiversity in our borough’s gardens. It’s an ideal place to meet people, where pollinators will find a habitat that’s as attractive as it is colourful!
Planting will take place every spring, summer and autumn over the years to transform these “farms” into genuine sources of seeds and mature plants. The plants selected offer significant advantages for pollinators during growth. You’ll be able to see the beauty and richness of the flora in our gardens!
Come visit our educational trail
Discover our trail in the form of educational posters that will teach you about the essential role played by pollination on human and animal populations. The trail is available inside the library and in the green spaces at the corner of boulevard de Pierrefonds and rue Richmond.
This project is in line with the City of Montreal’s strategic objectives, namely the Pollinator Protection Plan as well as the Pierrefonds-Roxboro Borough Sustainable Development Plan.
