Redevelopment and infrastructure work planned in Ahuntsic-Cartierville will affect 2 areas of Rue De Salaberry, Rue Marsan and the Highway 15 ramps.

The goal is to provide a quality road network, sustainable water and sewer systems and a pleasant and secure living environment.

When?

Summer 2024 to fall 2025

Where?

  • Rue De Salaberry, between Rue Filion and Avenue De Poutrincourt   
  • Rue Marsan, between Rue Forbes and Rue De Salaberry  
  • Rue De Salaberry, between Rue Frigon and Avenue du Bois-de-Boulogne

Construction planned on Rue De Salaberry between Rue Filion and Avenue De Poutrincourt, and Rue Marsa between Rue Forbes and Rue De Salaberry.   

What?

  • Upgrading of collector sewer and secondary water mains  
  • Rebuilding storm sewers and water mains   
  • Replacement of lead service lines for notified properties  
  • Sidewalk repairs  
  • Road paving 
  • Building medians, concrete islands and curbs   
  • Adding guardrails and tree pits on Highway 15  
  • Planting more than 350 trees and 700 plants    
  • Upgrading lighting and traffic lights at intersections 
  • Upgradingthe Commission des services électriques de Montréal (CSEM) network 
  • Reconfiguration of the highway network (A-15) 

Why ?

The project aims to: 

  • Resolve recurring problems of sewer backup during heavy rains and issues of roadway heave under the viaduct  
  • Avoid closing the street under the viaduct for emergency repairs 
  • Reduce the speed of westbound traffic on Rue De Salaberry (from Autoroute 15) 
  • Improve safety for all users of Rue De Salaberry. 

 

Construction planned on Rue De Salaberry between Rue Frigon and Avenue du Bois-de-Boulogne 

What? 

  • Rebuilding sewer and secondary water mains   
  • Rebuilding roadway and sidewalks   
  • Building curb extensions with drainage and planting pits  
  • Installing new street lights and upgrading traffic lights  
  • Bell infrastructure work

The project aims to: 

  • Rehabilitate sewer and water pipes  
  • Build curb extensions for safer travel  
  • Green the area
