Everything you need to know about the project

When

The city began the work back in 2012 and it is scheduled to last some 15 years.

Where

Outremont, Rosemont‒La Petite-Patrie, Villeray‒Saint-Michel‒Parc-Extension and Le Plateau-Mont-Royal boroughs.

What

Here is an outline of the worksites that are currently active as part of the MIL Montréal project:

Development of a level crossing on the extension of Avenue De L’Épée

This level crossing between Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension and Outremont is an improvement to active mobility in the area. The new pedestrian and bike path has bollards, chicanes and new signage. Construction is now complete.

Transformation of Parc Irma-LeVasseur and adjacent streets

Having an area of 18,500 m², the park will be bounded by Avenue Thérèse-Lavoie-Roux (north), Avenue Dollar (west) and Avenue Wiseman (east) and will be located in the back yard of the new elementary school that is currently in construction in Outremont borough. Having a stormwater retention capacity of 2,950,000 litres, Parc Irma-LeVasseur will become one of Montréal’s most important sponge parks.

In addition to the development of the new park, the project also includes roadwork, as well as lighting and public utility developments on neighbouring streets.

Construction work will begin during the spring of 2025 and is projected to last until the fall of 2026.
