When?

The city began the work back in 2012 and it is scheduled to last some 15 years.

Where?

Outremont, Rosemont‒La Petite-Patrie, Villeray‒Saint-Michel‒Parc-Extension and Le Plateau-Mont-Royal boroughs.

What?

Here is an outline of the worksites that are currently active as part of the MIL Montréal project:

Development of Parc des Gorilles and temporary development of Rue Waverly

Work is scheduled to last from March 2023 to the fall of 2024.

The development of the Parc des Gorilles will provide a unique place to rest, replenish your energy and socialize. The former railway land will be completely transformed into a natural environment where the neighborhood’s culture and history will coexist.

The park will span through the island formed by Rue Beaubien Ouest, Rue Saint-Urbain, Rue Saint-Zotique Ouest, and Avenue de l’Esplanade. More than 75% of its surface (7460 m2) will be covered in plants.

The city plans to improve the underground infrastructures, both sewage and waterworks, as well as to build electric pull boxes meant for the future burial of overhead wires.

Redevelopment of Rue Saint-Urbain

Redevelopment work on Rue Saint-Urbain, between Rue Beaubien Ouest and Avenue Beaumont ( Marconi-Alexandra Area) are projected for the fall of 2023. The work includes the burial of overhead wires.
