The Faire danser Lachine video showcases some of Lachine’s unique waterfront, heritage and industrial attractions. But above all, it highlights the people who live here!

Produced by the Faire danser un village team, the video benefited from the collaboration of 230 Lachine residents who danced in various symbolic locations of the borough’s territory to the song Au rythme de l’eau, specially composed by Lachine-born singer-composer-songwriter Joseph Boonen for the occasion. People of all ages and from all walks of life, Borough staff and the Fire Station 64 team got together at a variety of locations to show their attachment to Lachine… by dancing!

Les coulisses du tournage

How Faire danser un village was born

The Faire danser un village project was launched in 2018. It was the idea of Maude Lecours and Marie-Claude Lord, who dreamed of making their people dance to highlight the joy of living in the Brome-Missisquoi region. At the end of May 2018, the duo produced the first video, filming people dancing in Cowansville, Dunham and Frelighsburg. Since then, they’ve been continuing the adventure by getting other Québec communities dancing to promote them! Lachine is the first Montréal borough to hop on board. The project is designed to bring people together and create a sense of attachment to the community. Joseph Boonen’s song Au rythme de l’eau is available on all digital platforms.
