Want to see Montréal differently while having fun? This autumn, five new applications offer users an immersive experience of the city.

To make the most of these immersive digital experiences, please download the application of your choice and set out to explore the city.

Le Court-circuit by GrosJoueurs: Journey into the history of video games

Parcours ludique sur l'histoire du jeux vidéo au Québec

Why are so many video gaming companies established in Mile-End, Little Italy and Mile-Ex? This circuit with riddles, which comes with a podcast, lets you discover iconic video game locations.

Parcours en réalité augmentée

A travelling bard, the owner of an LGBTQ+ club, a immigrant-cum-radio repair person, and a community outreach worker… These are the characters you’ll meet, in the form of virtual sculptures, on this augmented reality circuit. You’ll discover noteworthy figures who left their mark on a few of Montréal’s neighbourhoods.

Il était une fois... la biodiversité à Montréal: Nature close to home (in French)

Jeu en réalité augmentée

This augmented reality game invites the user to explore manifestations of nature in Montréal, such as a green alley, a century-old tree, or the lawn in a large park. During your walk across the island, you’ll be prompted to find plants and animals and to take concrete actions to protect the environment. Along the way, you’ll collect points so that you can unblock levels and gradually become a biodiversity expert!

MTL EXPLORE: A multicultural voyage (in French)

MTL Explore

With its three cultural circuits, MTL EXPLORE lets you travel to China, France and Italy, while also allowing  you to discover the respective heritages of these countries through Montréal’s neighbourhoods. En route, you’ll discover culinary traditions, together with businesses and buildings proper to each culture.

PAUSE MTL: A musical interlude in the park

Pause Mtl

PAUSE MTL is geared to those who want to relax and immerse themselves in parallel atmospheres. Ten Montréal musicians offer a tour of Parc Frédéric-Back, set to an ambient blend between electronic and contemporary music.
