Have you made a small garden in your yard or on your balcony? It’s all you need to help transiting pollinators and to contribute to the fight against climate change. It’s now time to proudly show off your garden – no matter how small – to your fellow citizens by registering it for Saint-Laurent’s Mon jardin écolo contest!

Now in its third edition, this contest meshes with the popular plant distribution held during Garden Month in May. Furthermore, it satisfies the objectives of the Saint-Laurent 2021-2030 Climate Emergency Plan which strives, specifically, to promote urban farming and mobilize the public around the cause of protecting biodiversity. Furthermore, by offering participants the opportunity to invite their virtual community to vote for their gardens on social media, the contest establishes urban farming ambassadors whose influence extends past Saint-Laurent’s borders!

Register your garden!

From July 8, at 9 a.m., to July 26, 2024 gardening enthusiasts in Saint-Laurent are invited to submit photos of their outdoor garden arrangements to Saint-Laurent their exterior fittings in one of the following categories:

• In-ground gardens
• Balcony gardens

To be eligible, the development must be located on a private property in Saint-Laurent in one of the four collection sectors

• Sector 1
• Sector 2
• Sector 3
• Sector 4

To identify your collection sector, type your address in the form on the Info-collectes website.

Vote from August 12!

Online voting for the winning entries will take place from August 12, at 9 a.m., to August 30, 2024.

For each of the borough’s four collection sectors, prizes selected by the Arrondissement de Saint-Laurent valued at between $50 and $100 will be awarded for the garden arrangements that receive the most votes in each category. Only one vote per day per category for each sector can be registered per IP address.

The winners will be announced in September.
