The popular Pierrefonds-Roxboro Mayor’s Walk is back this year, from May 21 to 24, in a virtual and remote format. New: Register, pick up your participant’s kit and walk in style through the streets of your neighbourhood to support the cause chosen this year!

An adapted formula

This spring, the Mayor’s Walk will be held in accordance with the public health guidelines related to Covid-19! After the past year, this meaningful annual walk is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, get moving, and collectively highlight an important cause!

  • Virtual; No gathering
  • Interactive; Together but at a distance
  • At home ; Outside alone or with your family bubble

New: participant’s kit

This year, we will be walking in style! The borough has put together a participant’s kit, including festive accessories, which will be given to the first 200 people registered via the Eventbrite platform. Participants will be able to pick up their kits from May 17 to 21, at the Pierrefonds library, upon presentation of their Eventbrite registration confirmation.

Cause

The cause for which we will walk this year is to support and recognize all the essential workers since the beginning of the pandemic. All the kilometres walked will be in honor of these people, who day after day, do not back down during this difficult time.

At the end of this event, we will count all the kilometres walked by our citizens. This will be our way, as a community in Pierrefonds-Roxboro, to send them a good dose of love. Let’s get into action and walk outside towards this wind of hope, until we can meet in person!

How to participate

  1. Register and get your participant’s kit (free and open to all)
  2. Go to a street, a neighbourhood or a place where you have never been on foot
  3. Take a self-portrait with your discovery
  4. Share your photo in the event on our Facebook page and tell us how many kilometres you walked and for whom

Note: We wish to remind you that it is important to respect the sanitary measures in effect.
