Cinq pièces liquides, Hommage à Claude Vivier - Quasar quatuor de saxophones

Quasar offers a program that blends contemporary music with new music, with 5 works that revolve in some way around the musical universe of Quebec composer Claude Vivier.

Description

First, the concert focuses on Vivier’s close circles, with the work of one of his composition masters in Paris, Paul Méfano. Then we’ll discover his influence on today’s composers with Bestiaire by Émilie Girard-Charest, as well as two works commissioned especially for this project: L’instant liquide by Florence M. Tremblay and Cinq pièces liquides by Yassen Vodenitcharov. To open the evening, (re)discover Claude Vivier’s landmark work Pulau Dewata, which the quartet has been playing and perfecting for almost 30 years, in an ever-renewed tribute to this great composer.
