Description

The artist Andō Hiroshige revolutionized the printing industry by popularizing landscape prints. To celebrate the exhibition at the Montréal Fine Arts Museum, art historian, Vincent Arseneau, will discuss the differences between western art and the works by Hiroshige, influenced by Hokusai. He will present Hiroshige’s career, and the themes of the “Dreamscapes by Andō Hiroshige” (April 27 – September 8, 2024) exhibition. Arseneau will also discuss the Hiroshige’s influence on Monet, Degas and van Gogh, as well as on contemporary Japanese art.
