Rives - Yuki Isami
Flutist Yuki Isami (TEKE::TEKE, Drummondville and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Symphony Orchestra) presents Rives, a concert tracing the transformation of traditional Japanese music deeply influenced by the West.
Description
Moving from traditional to classical to contemporary music, the audience is invited on a journey guided by the soloist’s interpretation. In partnership with pianist Natsuki Hiratsuka and percussionist Corinne René, Yuki Isami explores ancient Japanese melodies and works by Toru Takemitsu and Claude Debussy, among others, with traditional Japanese instruments.
