Siraba - Adama Daou
Join us for this open-air musical event and let yourself be carried away by the rich tones of the balafon. A hands-on workshop is offered before the performance.
Description
Originally from Mali, Adama Daou is a master of the balafon—a traditional 12-key percussion instrument and ancestor of the xylophone. He invites you on a musical journey bridging Europe, Africa, and South America, performed by an ensemble of musicians from Brazil, France, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire. Featuring instruments such as the pandeiro, electric bass, and Mandingue guitar, this vibrant encounter promises to be both dynamic and refreshing.
Before the concert, Adama Daou will lead an introductory balafon workshop, open to both adults and children. He’ll bring his personal collection of balafons to give everyone a chance to try this unique African instrument.
