Disclose the sale of a building that does not appear in the land registry

Last updated January 11, 2023

Did you buy a building and the sale wasn’t recorded in the land registry? You must let us know. Find out how.

All new buyers of buildings in Montréal must pay property transfer duties even if the sale is not recorded in the land registry.

You have 90 days after the sale of the building to inform the city. You will need to complete a disclosure form.

A transfer duties account invoice will be issued by the city.
