Pierrefonds-Roxboro improves its measures with a blocking chamber
The Borough continues its proactive actions to strengthen the territory’s resilience against spring floods by advocating permanent measures to limit impacts in certain waterfront areas.
To this end, the installation of a blocking chamber under chemin de la Rive-Boisée will allow for the installation of permanent pumps to redirect rainwater, thus limiting flooding during spring floods in this area of the borough.
The blocking chamber will isolate the stormwater network from the river during significant floods. Once the valve is closed, pumps will be activated, providing better protection for residents living near chemin de la Rive-Boisée.
Duration of the work
The work will begin the week of February 3rd, between David Street and Gouin Boulevard, and will last approximately eight weeks.
Traffic and parking
Traffic on chemin de la Rive-Boisée will be partially impeded during the work, but will remain permitted in both directions. Pedestrians will have to use the east sidewalk of chemin de la Rive-Boisée, as well as the crossings provided at intersections, since the sidewalk will not be accessible in the work zone. Entrances to residences and other buildings will remain accessible at all times.
Construction site
Worksite equipment may cause noise, dust, odours and vibrations, but we will take all necessary measures to minimize these inconveniences.
The worksite will be active Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some work may be postponed or extended due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions.
