Saint-Pierre Remembers, with the Musée de Lachine's New Podcast
Discover the Musée de Lachine’s new podcast, Murmures du temps : chroniques de Saint-Pierre, which transports us to the territory that was once Ville Saint-Pierre.
A reflection of the residents of the Saint-Pierre sector
Developed around historical research and personal accounts, the podcast includes stories of significant events and little anecdotes related by the people of the Saint-Pierre sector. A series of activities helped unlock the voices of these people and it was often with great emotion that they shared their personal stories of their experiences, their work and their family life in what was once Ville Saint-Pierre.
Murmures du temps : chroniques de Saint-Pierre also includes a narrative that traces the history of this community, which has undergone a number of transformations since the 19th century. With the industrial development of the times and a growing population, Ville Saint-Pierre was created in 1908. The de-industrialization that began in the second half of the 20th century also transformed its social fabric. Even though Saint-Pierre was merged with Lachine in 1999, and then with Montréal in 2002, many former residents still feel a strong sense of belonging to their “old home town”.
Murmures du temps : chroniques de Lachine may be found on several streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple. Don’t hesitate to take a step back in time with the people of Saint-Pierre!
