In order to preserve shoreline erosion and provide safer access for surfers, kayakers and stand-up paddleboarders, Ville de Montréal has developed trails and various options for accessing the river. Outside of the designated dates (May 15 - October 15), water activities are not permitted at the Vague à Guy.

Safety reminder

• Ville de Montréal does not supervise this area and cannot be held responsible in the event of an accident.
• Please obey the signs in force. In bad weather, the site may be closed to ensure users' safety.

New rest strop

Surfers, kayakers and paddle boarders, in addition to Rapids Park users, can now benefit from the following facilities

Two permanent prefabricated buildings

• One has a self-cleaning four-season toilet and an outdoor shower (Temporarily out of service)
• The other offers changing booths and lockers

These buildings are part of a landscaped rest area and a pathway links to the existing ones.

Please note that the washroom is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

La Vague à Guy Community Guidelines

• We’re a wonderful community where our passion for surfing goes hand in hand with respect for nature and others.
• We use a changing room to change clothes—everyone prefers to see us with our clothes on!
• We appreciate the sounds of nature, so we keep noise and music volume to a minimum.
• We protect the local wildlife and plants—trash can’t surf!
• We’re located at 8180 boulevard LaSalle. Be sure to provide this address for your food deliveries.
• We share the space with the neighbourhood, cyclists, runners and motorists.
• We keep private driveways on boulevard LaSalle clear and we move around safely.
• We leave the park peacefully at 11 p.m., without leaving a trace.
