Éco-quartier

The éco-quartier program aims to promote environmental citizenship and improve Montrealers’ living environments through environmental education and civic engagement. Find out more.

Mission

Montréal has 18 éco-quartiers with points of service in 16 boroughs.

Non-profit organizations with strong roots in the community manage the éco-quartier program. The éco-quartiers are first-line resources for people who want to develop eco-responsible habits.

Program activities

Éco-quartiers oversee a number of activities, such as:

  • Developing green lanes
  • Distribution and selling ecological products
  • Environmental educational activities
  • Environmental project, in collaboration with residents
  • Greening projects
  • Organizing cleanups 
  • Selling trees for the “A Tree in My Neighbourhood” campaign
